Obstinate Faith

 

సర్వలోక నాధుడగు యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకుల అరకాళ్లు యొర్దాను నీళ్లను ముట్టగానే యొర్దాను నీళ్లు, అనగా ఎగువ నుండి పారు నీళ్లు ఆపబడి యేకరాశిగా నిలుచును. (యెహోషువ 3:13). 

లేవీయుల ధీరత్వాన్ని ఎవరు ప్రశంసించకుండా ఉండగలరు? మందసాన్ని నేరుగా నదిలోకి మోసుకు పోయారు. వాళ్ళ కాళ్ళు నీటిలో మునిగేదాకా నదీ జలం విడిపోయి దారి ఇవ్వలేదు. దేవుడు ఇచ్చినది అంతా అదే. దేవుడు చేసిన ప్రమాణాన్ని మనసులో పెట్టుకొని దాన్ని తప్ప మరి దేన్నీ లెక్క చెయ్యనిదే “మొండి విశ్వాసం”.

ఊహించండి. ఈ దైవ సేవకులు మందసాన్ని ఎత్తుకొని నిండుగా ప్రవహిస్తున్న నదిలోకి నడుస్తున్నప్పుడు అక్కడ నిలబడిన వాళ్లు ఏం అనుకుని ఉంటారో? “నేను మాత్రం చస్తే ఇలాంటి పని చెయ్యను. ఏమిటీ! నదీ ప్రవాహానికి మందసం కొట్టుకొని పోదూ!”. అలాంటిదేమీ జరగలేదు. “మందసము మోయు యాజకులు యొర్దాను మధ్య ఆరిన నేలను స్థిరముగా నిలిచిరి.” ఒక విషయం ఎప్పుడూ గుర్తుంచుకోవాలి. దేవుడు తన పథకాలను నెరవేర్చడానికి, మన విశ్వాసం కూడా ఆయనకు తోడ్పడుతుంది.

మందసాన్ని మోయడానికి మోతకఱ్ఱలు ఉన్నాయి. దేవుని నిబంధన మందసమైనా అది తనంతట తాను కదలలేదు. దాన్ని భుజాలకెత్తుకొని మోయాలి. దేవుడు అంచనాలను పథకాలను సిద్ధపరుస్తాడు. వాటిని అమలు పరిచే పని వాళ్ళం మనమే. మన విశ్వాసమే దేవునికి సహాయం. సింహాల నోళ్లు మూయించే దేవుడు దాన్ని గౌరవిస్తాడు. విశ్వాసం ముందుకు సాగి పోతూనే ఉండాలి. మనం కోరదగిన విశ్వాసం ఎలాంటిదంటే దేవుడు తనకు అనుకూలమైన సమయంలో అన్నింటినీ నెరవేరుస్తాడన్న నిశ్చయతతో ముందుకు సాగిపోయే విశ్వాసం. నా తోటి లేవీయులారా, మన బరువును ఎత్తుకుందాం రండి. దేవుని శవపేటికను ఎత్తుకున్నట్టుగా మొహాలు వేలాడేసుకోవద్దు. ఇది సజీవుడైన దేవుని నిబంధన మందసం. పొంగుతూ ప్రవహించే నది వైపుకి పాటలు పాడుకుంటూ సాగిపోదాం.

అపొస్తలుల కాలంలో పరిశుద్ధాత్మ వాళ్లకి వేసిన ఓ ప్రత్యేకమైన ముద్ర ఏమిటంటే “ధైర్యం”. దేవుని కోసం గొప్ప కార్యాలు తలపెట్టి, అపూర్వమైన ఆశీర్వాదాలను దేవుని నుండి ఆశించే విశ్వాసం యొక్క లక్షణం ఒక్కటే. పరిశుద్ధత నిండిన సాహసం. మన వ్యవహారాలన్నీ లోకాతీతుడైన దేవునితోనే. మానవపరంగా అసాధ్యమైన ఈవుల్ని మనం పొందుతున్నది ఆయన నుండే. అలాంటప్పుడు జంకుతూ జాగ్రత్తగా ఒడ్డుకు అంటిపెట్టుకుని ఉండడం దేనికి? సాహసోపేతమైన నమ్మకంతో స్థిరంగా నిలబడటానికి సందేహం దేనికి? విశ్వాస జీవితనౌకలో పయనించే నావికులారా లోతైన సముద్రాల్లోకి నావను నడిపిద్దాం రండి. దేవుడికి అన్నీ సాధ్యమే. ఆయన్ని నమ్మేవాళ్ళకి అసాధ్యం ఏదీ లేదు. ఈనాడు మనం దేవుని కోసం గొప్ప కార్యాలను తలపెడదాం రండి. ఆయన నుండి విశ్వాసం పొందుదాం. ఆ విశ్వాసం, ఆయన బలపరాక్రమాలు మనం తలపెట్టిన గొప్ప కార్యాలను సాధిస్తాయి.

And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bare the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon a heap. ( Josh 3:13 )

Brave Levites! Who can help to admire them, to carry the Ark right into the stream; for the waters were not divided till their feet dipped in the water (ver. 15). God had not promised aught else. God honors faith. “Obstinate faith,” that the PROMISE sees and “looks to that alone.” You can fancy how the people would watch these holy men march on, and some of the bystanders would be saying, “You would not catch me running that risk! Why, man, the ark will be carried away!” Not so; “the priests stood firm on dry ground.” We must not overlook the fact that faith on our part helps God to carry out His plans. “Come up to the help of the Lord.”

The Ark had staves for the shoulders. Even the Ark did not move of itself; it was carried. When God is the architect, men are the masons and laborers. Faith assists God. It can stop the mouth of lions and quench the violence of fire. It yet honors God, and God honors it. Oh, for this faith that will go on, leaving God to fulfill His promise when He sees fit! Fellow Levites, let us shoulder our load, and do not let us look as if we were carrying God’s coffin. It is the Ark of the living God! Sing as you march towards the flood! —Thomas Champness

One of the special marks of the Holy Ghost in the Apostolic Church was the spirit of boldness. One of the most essential qualities of the faith that is to attempt great things for God, and expect great things from God, is holy audacity. Where we are dealing with a supernatural Being, and taking from Him humanly impossible things, it is easier to take much than little; it is easier to stand in a place of audacious trust than in a place of cautious, timid clinging to the shore.

Likewise, seamen in the life of faith, let us launch out into the deep, and find that all things are possible with God, and all things are possible unto him that believeth.

Let us, today, attempt great things for God; take His faith and believe in them and His strength to accomplish them. —Days of Heaven upon Earth.

When We See Him Face to Face

మనయెడల ప్రత్యక్షము కాబోవు మహిమ యెదుట ఇప్పటి కాలపు శ్రమలు ఎన్నతగినవి కావని యెంచుచున్నాను - (రోమా 8:18). 

ఇంగ్లండ్ దేశంలో ఈ మధ్య ఒక పెళ్ళిలో చాలా విచిత్రమైన సంఘటన జరిగింది. పెళ్ళికొడుకు ధనవంతుడు, ఉన్నత కుటుంబికుడు, పదేళ్ళ ప్రాయంలో ఒక ప్రమాదంలో కళ్ళు రెండూ పోగొట్టుకున్నాడు. గుడ్డివాడైనప్పటికీ చదువులో అందరి మన్ననలూ పొందాడు. పెళ్ళికూతురిది వర్ణించలేనంత అందం. కాని ఏం లాభం, పెళ్ళికొడుకు ఆమె ముఖారవిందాన్ని చూడడానికి నోచుకోలేదు. కాని పెళ్ళికి కొన్ని రోజులముందే నిపుణులైన కంటి డాక్టర్లు అతనికి చికిత్స చేసారు. పెళ్ళిరోజున దాని ఫలితం తెలియనున్నది.

ఆ రోజు రానే వచ్చింది. అతిధులు, బహుమతులతో చర్చి నిండింది. మంత్రులు, ఉన్నత సైన్యాధికారులు, బిషప్పులు, ఎందరో కీర్తి ప్రతిష్టలున్న వాళ్ళు వచ్చారు. పెళ్ళికొడుకు పెళ్ళిబట్టలు వేసుకుని కళ్ళకి ఇంకా కట్టుతోనే తన తండ్రితో కలిసి కారులో చర్చికి చేరుకున్నాడు. చర్చి దగ్గర కంటి వైద్యుడు అతన్ని కలిసాడు.

పెండ్లికుమార్తె తండ్రి ఆమెను సుతారంగా నడిపిస్తూ తీసుకొచ్చాడు. రకరకాల భావాలు ఆమెను ఉక్కిరిబిక్కిరి చేస్తున్నాయి. అందరూ అంతలా ప్రశంసిస్తున్న తన అందాన్ని తన ప్రియుడు వేళ్ళతో తడిమి చూడడమేనా, లేక కళ్ళారా చూసి మురిసిపోయే ప్రాప్తం ఉందా.

ఆమె ప్రవేశిస్తుండగా మధురమైన సంగీతం చర్చిలో నిండింది. పుల్ పిట్ ని నమీపిస్తుంటే ఆమె కళ్ళు ఒక వింత దృశ్యంపై పడినాయి.

 వరుని ప్రక్కన అతని తండ్రి ఉన్నాడు. వరుని ఎదుట ఆ కంటి వైద్యుడు కంటికి ఉన్న కట్లు విప్పుతూ ఉన్నాడు. చివరికట్టు కూడా తొలగించబడింది. రెప్పలు రెపరెపలాడించి తడబడుతూ ఒక అడుగు ముందుకి వేసాడు. నిద్రమేల్కొన్నవాళ్ళు పరిసరాలను నిదానించి చూసినట్టు కళ్ళు చికిలించి ముందుకు చూసాడు. పైనుండి గులాబిరంగు అద్దంలోగుండా సూర్యకాంతి అతని ముఖంపై పడుతున్నది. అయితే అతను దానివంక చూడలేదు.

మరేం కనిపించింది అతనికి? ఒక్క క్షణం పాటు తన తత్తరపాటును అణుచుకుని వదనంలో ఇదివరకెన్నడూ లేని హుందాతనం, ఆనందం ఉట్టిపడుతుండగా తన వధువును ఎదుర్కోవడానికి ముందుకి అడుగేసాడు. వాళ్ళిద్దరి చూపులు పెనవేసుకున్నాయి. కలిసిన ఆ యిద్దరి కళ్ళు మరెన్నటికీ విడిపోవన్నట్టుగా అనిపించింది.

ఎన్నాళ్ళకి!” ఆమె పెదిమలు విచ్చుకున్నాయి. “ఎన్నాళ్ళకి!” అతను బదులు పలికాడు. ఆ దృశ్యం అక్కడ చేరియున్న వాళ్ళ హృదయాల మీద హత్తుకుపోయింది. సంతోష సంభ్రమాలకు అంతులేదు.

బాధలు, విచారాలు నిండిన ఈ లోకంలో తన యాత్రను ముగించుకుని క్రైస్తవుడు పరలోకంలో చేరి తన ప్రభువును ముఖాముఖిగా చూసినప్పుడు జరిగే సన్నివేశానికి ఈ దృశ్యం ఒక మచ్చుతునకు.

నా ప్రియతమా! యేసు ప్రభూ! నీతినిలయా!

నీ పైని ఆశతో, నీ రాకకై,

దాపుచేరే వేళకై నిరీక్షించేను

నా కన్నులు కాయలు కాసేను

ఆ రోజు రావాలి ఎదురు తెన్నులిక పోవాలి

కడకు చేరేవు నన్ను  నీ స్వరం వింటాను

కన్నులారా కనుగొంటాను నీతో ఉంటాను

ఎంత రమ్యమీ నిరీక్షణా స్వప్నాలు

I do not count the sufferings of our present life worthy of mention when compared with the glory that is to be revealed and bestowed upon us - (Rom - 8:18)

A remarkable incident occurred recently at a wedding in England. A young man of large wealth and high social position, who had been blinded by an accident when he was ten years old, and who won University honors despite his blindness, had won a beautiful bride, though he had never looked upon her face. A little while before his marriage, he submitted to a course of treatment by experts, and the climax came on the day of his wedding.

The day came, and the presents, and guests. There were present cabinet ministers and generals arid bishops and learned men and women. The bridegroom, dressed for the wedding, his eyes still shrouded in linen, drove to the church with his father, and the famous oculist met them in the vestry.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her white-haired father. So moved was she that she could hardly speak. Was her lover, at last, to see her face that others admired, but which he knew only through his delicate fingertips?

As she neared the altar, while the soft strains of the wedding march floated through the church, her eyes fell on a strange group.

The father stood there with his son. Before the latter was the great oculist in the act of cutting away the last bandage. The bridegroom took a step forward, with the spasmodic uncertainty of one who cannot believe that he is awake. A beam of rose-colored light from a pane in the chancel window fell across his face, but he did not seem to see it.

Did he see anything? Yes! Recovering in an instant his steadiness of mien, and with dignity and joy never before seen in his face, he went forward to meet his bride. They looked into each other’s eyes, and one would have thought that his eyes would never wander from her face.

“At last!” she said. “At last!” he echoed solemnly, bowing his head. That was a scene of great dramatic power, and no doubt of great joy, and is but a mere suggestion of what will actually take place in Heaven when the Christian who has been walking through this world of trial and sorrow, shall see Him face to face. —Selected

Receive All He Has For You

లోతు అబ్రామును విడిచి పోయినతరువాత యెహోవా ఇదిగో నీ కన్నులెత్తి నీవు ఉన్నచోటనుండి ఉత్తరపుతట్టు దక్షిణపుతట్టు తూర్పు తట్టు పడమరతట్టును చూడుము; ఎందుకనగా నీవు చూచుచున్న యీ దేశమంతటిని నీకును నీ సంతానమునకును సదాకాలము ఇచ్చెదను. - (అది 13:14,15).

ఎస్. ఎ. కీన్ అనే భక్తుడు ఇలా అన్నాడు; 

నెరవేర్చడానికి ఇష్టం లేని కోరిక దేన్నీ పరిశుద్దాత్మ నీలో కలిగించడు. కాబట్టి నీ విశ్వాసం రెక్కలు విప్పుకొని ఆకాశానికి కెగిరి నీ కంటికి ఆనినంత మేరా ఉన్న భూమిని స్వాధీనం చేసుకోవాలి.

విశ్వాసం అనే కంటితో నువ్వు చూసిన ప్రతీ దీవెనా నీ స్వంతం అయినట్టే భావించు. ఎంత దూరం చూడగలిగితే అంత దూరం చూడు. అదంతా నీదే. క్రైస్తవ జీవితంలో ఏ సుదూర తీరాలను చేరాలనుకుంటున్నావో, క్రీస్తుకు ఎంత శ్రేష్టమైన సేవ చెయ్యాలనుకుంటున్నావో అవన్నీ విశ్వాసంలో సాధ్యమే. ఆ తరువాత ఇంకా దగ్గరికి రా, నీ బైబిల్ చూపిన దారిలో ఆత్మ నడిపింపుకి విధేయుడివై, దేవుని సన్నిధిలో నీ ఆపాదమస్తకమూ బాప్తిస్మం పొందు. ఆయన తన మహిమ సంపూర్ణతను చూడగలిగేలా నీ ఆత్మ నేత్రాలను తెరిచినప్పుడు, నువ్వు చూసేదంతా నీ వారసత్వం అన్న నిశ్చయతను కలిగి ఉండు. తన వాక్యంలో ఆయన చేసిన వాగ్దానాలూ, ఆయన ప్రేరేపణవల్ల నీలో నిదురలేచే ఆకాంక్షలూ, యేసుని వెంబడించే వారికి దొరికే అవకాశాలూ అన్నీ నీ స్వంతమే. వాటిని స్వాధీనం చేసుకో. నీ కనుచూపు మేరలోని భూమంతా నీకు ఇయ్యబడింది.

మన దేవునికి మనపై ఉన్న కృప మన మనస్సులో తలెత్తే స్పందనల్లోనే ప్రత్యక్షపరచబడుతుంది. ఉదాహరణకి చూడండి. చలికాలం ముంచుకు వచ్చినపుడు ఎక్కడో ఉన్న పక్షి వెచ్చదనం, సూర్యరశ్మి కోసం ఖండాలు, సముద్రాలు దాటి దక్షిణ ప్రాంతాలకి వలసపోవాలన్న జ్ఞానాన్ని దేవుడు వాటి అల్పమైన మస్తిష్కంలో ఉంచుతాడు. అవి ప్రయాణం ప్రారంభించాక వాటికి ఆశాభంగం కలగడం దేవునికి ఇష్టం కాదు. వాటికి ఆ ఆలోచన ఎలా ఇచ్చాడో అలానే వాటి గమ్యంలో మృదువైన పిల్లగాలి, ప్రకాశవంతమైన ఎండను సిద్ధం చేస్తాడు. క్రేన్స్ అనే పక్షులు రష్యాలోని సైబీరియాలో మంచు, చలిగాలులు ప్రారంభం కాగానే దాదాపు 10,000 కిలోమీటర్లు ప్రయాణించి భారతదేశంలోని భరత్ పూర్ అనే చోటికి వలస వస్తాయి. ఇక్కడికి రావాలన్న జ్ఞానం ఆ పక్షులకి దేవుడే ఇచ్చాడు. అలానే ఇక్కడ వాటి కోసం ఆహ్లాదకరమైన వాతావరణాన్ని కూడా సిద్ధపరిచాడు.

పరలోక సంబంధమైన నిరీక్షణతో మన ఆత్మలను వెలిగించిన దేవుడు, ఆ ఆశ వైపుకి మనం వేగిరపడే సమయంలో మనల్ని మోసగించడు. వాటిని అనుగ్రహించ లేకుండా ఆయన చెయ్యి కురుచ కాలేదు.

“వారు వెళ్ళి ఆయన తమతో చెప్పినట్టు కనుగొనిరి” (లూకా 22:13).

Look from the place where thou art, northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it - (Gen - 13:14-15)

No instinct can be put in you by the Holy Ghost but He purposes to fulfill. Let your faith then rise and soar away and claim all the land you can discover. —S. A. Keen

All you can apprehend in the vision of faith is your own. Look as far as you can, for it is all yours. All that you long to be as a Christian, all that you long to do for God, are within the possibilities of faith. Then come, still closer, and with your Bible before you, and your soul open to all the influences of the Spirit, let your whole being receive the baptism of His presence; and as He opens your understanding to see all His fulness, believe He has it all for you. Accept for yourself all the promises of His word, all the desires He awakens within you, all the possibilities of what you may be as a follower of Jesus. All the land you see is given to you.

The actual provisions of His grace come from the inner vision. He who puts the instinct in the bosom of yonder bird to cross the continent in search of summer sunshine in the Southern clime is too good to deceive it, and just as surely as He has put the instinct in its breast, so has He also put the balmy breezes and the vernal sunshine yonder to meet it when it arrives.

He who breathes into our hearts the heavenly hope, will not deceive or fail us when we press forward to its realization. —Selected
